In my Broadcast Journalism class, Tim immediately impressed me with his gregarious, yet thoughtful and focused manner.  But Tim still surprised when he enthusiastically embraced a story assignment as mundane as Fort Lauderdale’s burgeoning problem with its failing water infrastructure.  Within a week, he became an expert on the subject and interviewed expert and official sources. 

As good a student as he was in Broadcast Journalism, Tim has truly excelled in my Advanced Broadcast Journalism class this semester.  He’s assumed responsibility for assembling our local radio news magazine South Florida Journal each week; without fail, mentored Broadcast students every Tuesday and then joined his Advanced classmates for production every Thursday; and quickly become my journalistic sounding board. 

I’ve come to value Tim’s journalistic sense (as a reporter, writer, and editor), but also his initiative, dedication, and good humor.  What I value most, however, is his character.  He never hesitates to tactfully tell me when he thinks I’m wrong.  And by now, I view Tim more as a colleague than as a student.
